In a thrilling second edition of Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo, the Jokers coached by Sid Steiner and Joe Beaver came away the champions. The team took home $500,000 total.
The Jokers grabbed four of the available seven Gold Medals to qualify for the Championship Match against Convoy and started things off with a bang.
First, riding for his father’s team, Rocker Steiner was the bareback riding gold medalist by going 90 to get the win over Jess Pope. In the very next event, Brody Cress grabbed gold in the saddle bronc riding.
The Jokers also won Gold in team roping and steer wrestling thanks to Jade Corkill/Colby Lovell and JD Struxness in the steer wrestling.
With the Convoy winning the other three golds (Jordon Briggs in barrels, Shelby Meged in breakaway, and Riley Webb in tie-down roping), it setup for a battle of titans in the Championship.
Convoy jumped out to an early 2-1 lead thanks to wins by Dustin Egusquiza/Levi Lord in team roping and Riley Webb in tie-down roping. The Jokers, however, ripped off three straight discipline victories to close the night and claim the title. Those were courtesy of Dakota Eldridge in steer wrestling, Cheyanne McCarthy in breakaway roping, and Cole Franks in bareback riding to wrap things up and win it 4-2.
Each coach and athlete took home $27,778.
