The Third Annual North Dakota Rough Rider Cup concluded Sunday with athletes cashing in big wins as the season nears its end.

15 athletes earned over $9,000 and 10 earned at least $10,000, many of whom are fighting for an NFR bid.

Tim O’Connell is one of the athletes fighting to make his 11th NFR appearance. He won the Bareback event, scoring 90 points on J Bar J’s Straight Stick, his first 90+ score this season. The 3x World Champion earned $18,119, bringing his season earnings to $97,991, good for 22nd place.

World Steer Wrestling Leader Tyler Waguespack picked up his 23rd sub-4.0 second out of the season and grew his lead over the field with his 3.5-second win in Mandan. He earned $9,475 and is now just over $12,500 ahead of Jesse Brown, who’s on his tail.

Dustin Egusquiza and JC Flake were 3.8 to win the Team Roping event. They lead all Team Ropers with 11 outs 4.0 seconds or faster this season. The duo earned $9,856, bringing their season totals to $121,789 each. Egusquiza jumped to 10th, while Flake jumped to 11th.

Brody Wells was a season-high 92 on J Bar J’s Shady Jacket to win the Saddle Bronc event. He earned $18,020 and is now 6th in the World Standings.

Gus Gaillard was right behind Wells in 2nd, scoring 90 on Three Hills Rodeo’s Tear Drop and earning $13,815. Gaillard is now in 13th place with $151,477 and on the right track to qualifying for his first career NFR.

Cory Solomon got a crucial 7.1-second win to earn $9,983 and jump into 15th place in the World Tie-Down Standings. It was his second sub-7.5- second out of the season, and his fastest.

Solomon has a $3,000 lead over 16th-place Dylan Hancock. If Solomon stays qualified, it’ll be his 11th NFR.

Tayla Moeykens was a lightning-fast 17.00 seconds to win the Barrel Racing event, beating the field by over a tenth of a second.

Moeykens earned $12,780, bringing her season purse to $147,587, and is now in 8th place.

John Crimber was 88.5 on Dakota Rodeo’s Astro Outlaw to win the Bull Riding event. He won $18,048, which puts his September earnings alone at $56,619. Crimber is now in 7th place with $218,367.

Thayne Elshere, Josh Frost, and Stetson Wright tied for 2nd place, scoring 87.5 and earning $10,227 each. Elshere isn’t ranked, Wright is solidly in 3rd, but Frost just recently entered the top-15 and now sits in 11th with $159,318.

Stetson Wright and Thayne Elshere shared the All-Around Cowboy win with $10,227 each, won across Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding.
