BEHIND THE LENS IN LAS VEGAS

Four photographers have earned the opportunity to capture rodeo’s biggest stage.

Hailey Hurst, Kathryn Coleman, Lara St. Jacques and Click Thompson have been selected as the official photographers for the 2026 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Tractor Supply Company, set for Dec. 3-12 inside the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Only four photographers receive the assignment each year. For those selected, it means 10 nights spent documenting far more than the action inside the arena. They’ll capture the celebrations, heartbreak, pressure, and defining moments that turn an NFR into rodeo history.

For Click Thompson, the selection represents both recognition of the work that brought him to Las Vegas and another opportunity to prove himself once he gets there.

“Being selected for the NFR in many ways is a confirmation of the time and dedication I’ve put into my craft and the work I put in all year covering these rodeos and telling stories visually,” Thompson told US Cowboy. “The selection also serves as that final challenge to culminate the year. Yes, being selected is an accomplishment, but now it’s time to prove why!”

And there’s one event Thompson is particularly eager to have in front of his lens. “I’m not really going out on a limb, but I think we’re in for the greatest 10 rounds of Bull Riding ever.”

Clay Guardipee has also been selected to photograph the National Finals Steer Roping presented by Cedar Gap Wealth Management, taking place Nov. 13-14 at the Kansas Star in Mulvane, Kansas.

Behind every photograph that becomes synonymous with an NFR is someone who had to anticipate the moment before it happened. This December, Hurst, Coleman, St. Jacques and Thompson will have that responsibility in Las Vegas, while Guardipee will document the championship story in Mulvane.

Congratulations to all five photographers on a well-earned honor. The ProRodeo community will be blessed to see the moments, memories, and history of the 2026 National Finals Rodeo through their lenses.
