How We Got Here: Fort Worth Finals

Things have been narrowed down the final 8 in every event. The Short Round of the first Texas Swing rodeo beings at 8:30 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
Bareback Riding
Weston Timberman – Timberman has finished first or second in all three of his Go-Rounds so far with 84.5 on his first horse and 87 on his next two. He has already made $6,400.
Bradlee Miller – Miller entered Fort Worth ranked No. 1 in the World and grabbed the final spot in the Short Round from the First Semifinal.
Jacek Frost – Three straight rides of 87.5 points or better got the 20-year-old a trip to the Finals. His most recent was his best, 89.5 to win the Second Semifinal.
Jayco Roper – Roper started with a bang with a 90-point ride in Bracket 4, Round 1 and followed it up with an 87 and an 86.5.
Mason Clements – Clements has won at least $1,400 on all three of his horses so far and his rides have been between 83.5 and 87 points.
Cole Franks – After not advancing out of his bracket last year, Franks made the Finals with rides of 84, 87 and 87.5 points.
Nick Pelke – The Wisconsin native advanced by winning the Wildcard with an 87.5-point ride on Bigtimin Houston. He followed that up with another 87.5 in the Second Semifinal.
Jacob Lees – Lees has won the last two rounds he competed in with a pair of 88.5-point ride. He enters the Finals with $7,700 already in the bank from Funkytown.
Steer Wrestling
Ty Erickson – The 2019 World Champion made runs of 3.8, 3.7 and 4.3 seconds to get to the Finals.
Jesse Brown – Erickson’s worst run so far is a 4.3, and that’s Brown’s best. What makes bracket-style rodeos so interesting is the fact that Brown has made more money.
Sam Goings – It is the 27-year-old’s second time competing in Fort Worth and this will be his first Finals appearance.
Eli Lord – Lord had one two checks on nine runs prior to Fort Worth in the 2025 season and then won three checks in a row there with runs of 4.9, 4.4 and 4.2. He has already made over $7,000 at this rodeo.
Don Payne – In his second rodeo of the 2025 season, Payne has kicked things off with three checks of $1,400 or better in Fort Worth.
Mike McGinn – McGinn made it through his bracket with runs of 10.1 and 6.6 seconds and then won his Semifinal with a 3.6. He split it with Don Payne.
Stetson Jorgensen – Jorgensen has made three straight runs of 4.4 or faster and has finished in the Top 3 in the Go-Round each time.
Team Roping
Clint Summers/Paul Eaves – Summers/Eaves have been surviving and advancing throughout the rodeo. They were second in the Wildcard and then third in the First Semifinal.
Cody Carter/Blake Bentley – Carter/Bentley made the Finals for the first time in their careers as the final qualifier from Semifinal A.
Andrew Ward/Jake Long – After a 9.8 on their first run, Ward/Long were 3.7 and 4.4 on the next two.
Dawson Graham/Dillon Graham – The Graham brothers bounced back from a 12.4 on their first run to make the Finals.
Clay Smith/Coleby Payne – This team won this rodeo a year ago with a 4.5. All three of their qualified times have been faster than that so far. They won the Wildcard and the Second Semifinal with a 3.8.
Brady Tryan/Calgary Smith – The 2023 CPRA Champions were the fourth team to make it from the Second Semifinal.
Cyle Denison/Lane Mitchell – Denison/Mitchell advanced first out of Bracket 1 and then won the First Semifinal with a 4.6-second run.
Tanner Tomlinson/Travis Graves – Tomlinson/Graves were second in their bracket and second in the First Semifinal.
Saddle Bronc Riding
Cash Wilson – Wilson made the Semifinals in 2023 and this will be his first Finals appearance in Fort Worth.
Zac Dallas – Just like he did in Denver, Dallas won his Semifinal in Fort Worth. We’ll see if he can repeat Denver again and win the whole thing.
Zeke Thurston – Thurston has been 87 points or better on all three of his rides in Fort Worth this season. Last year, he was 90.5 in the Finals and finished second.
Dawson Hay – Hay advanced through the Wildcard and then took third in the Second Semifinal. His four rides here have been 86, 87, 89.5 and 84 points.
Jake Finlay – Finlay experienced both sides of the coin to get here. He won his bracket then split fourth in his Semifinal.
Gus Gaillard – The 2024 CNFR Champion has cracked the Finals of a Texas Swing Rodeo for the first time in his career.
Kade Bruno – Bruno entered this rodeo No. 1 in the World and all three of his rides have been 87 or 87.5 points.
Statler Wright – Wright won at least $2,000 on each of his first three rides, the highest marked of which was 87 points.
Tie-Down Roping
Kincade Henry – Henry bounced back from a no time on his first run and has made more than $5,000 on his last two.
Tom Crouse – Crouse has won checks for times of 9.7 and 9.4 seconds, but all that matters is that it was enough to get him to the Finals.
Riley Webb – The reigning World Champion won more than half of his money so far in Fort Worth in a Bracket 7, Round 1 victory.
Shad Mayfield – Last year, Mayfield won Fot Worth by winning both his Semifinal and the Finals. The first step was completed when he was 8.4 to win the First Semifinal.
Michael Otero – Otero has gotten through with times of 11.6, 8.7 and 9.7.
Ty Harris – Harris was second in Bracket 6 and third in his Semifinal.
Kyle Lucas – After finishing second in Bracket 5, Lucas won the Second Semifinal by more than a second with a 7.8.
Brushton Minton – After winning Denver, Minton has won over $7,000 in Fort Worth. He was second in the First Semifinal.
Barrel Racing
Emily Beisel – Beisel has been dominant so far, winning all three Go-Rounds with times of 16.26 seconds or faster.
Andrea Busby – Behind Beisel, Busby has been the second best barrel racer. She has two 16.20-second runs and the other was a 16.33.
Carlee Otero – Otero has three runs of 16.35 or faster and has finished first or second in all three rounds she ran in.
Leslie Smalygo – Smalygo was second in Bracket 6 and then claimed the final spot from the First Semifinal, which was the fastest barrel racing round we’ve seen so far.
Shelley Morgan – All three of Morgan’s runs have been between 16.36 and 16.46 and they have all paid between $1,400 and $2,000.
Kassie Mowry – The reigning World Champion boasts the second-fastest run of the rodeo with a 16.13. Only Beisel’s 16.11 has been faster.
Megan McLeod-Sprague – McLeod-Sprague has been living on the edge, making it back as the second Wildcard and fourth place finisher in the Second Semifinal.
Toria Madsen – Madsen was the Wildcard winner and turned in a 16.15-second run to win it. She followed it up with a 16.28 in her Semifinal.
Bull Riding
Gavin Mitchell – Mitchell only has one qualified ride, but he was the only one in the Go-Round to make the whistle when he did it, so he’ll enter the Finals with $7,000 already won.
Wade Tuni – Tuni’s story is the same as Mitchell’s – one qualified ride and $7,000.
T Parker – Parker is 2-for-3 and has two rides have gone for 88 and 90 points, the latter of which won him over $4,000 in the Second Semifinal.
Maverick Potter – Potter is a perfect 3-for-3 and has already made more than $10,000 jn Fort Worth. He is the only one who is perfect so far.
Jestyn Woodward – Woodward had bucked off six in a row prior to Fort Worth but is 2-for-3 inside Dickies Arena.
Roscoe Jarboe – The veteran of this bunch, Jarboe is 2-for-3 and tied for second in the Second Semifinal.
TJ Gray – Gray’s two qualified rides have gone for 92 and 88 points. That 92 is the highest marked roughstock ride of the rodeo.
Bryce Jensen – Jensen went 2-for-2 in the Wildcard and semifinals to make it to the Short Round.
