Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Bracket 1 Recap: Emily Beisel, John Douch Among Those Advancing

Each event now has two athletes who have gotten one step closer to winning the season’s first Texas Swing rodeo by advancing out of Bracket 1 in Fort Worth.
Bull Riding
Braxton Whitesell was the top qualifier in Bracket 1, earning $7,400 for making the only qualified ride in Round 2 with an 84-point ride atop Rafter G Rodeo’s Peaky Blinders.
The other two advance from Bracket 1 were the two who made a qualified ride in Round 1, Trevor Reiste (85 points) and Thayne Elshere (82 points).
Whitesell started his ProRodeo career last May and is coming off two wins, including the FWSSR Rookie Rally, where he rode Rafter G’s Jelly Roll for 85 points and qualified for the FWSSR.
Barrel Racing
Emily Beisel dominated both rounds in Bracket 1. She earned $5,000, $2,500 a round for a pair of victories.
She won the First Round with a 16.47-second run and improved in Round 2 with a 16.39.
Beisel will be joined by Lisa Lockhart, who picked up $3,400, while Sharon Gow, who earned $1,625, will go to the Wild Card.
Tie-Down Roping
John Douch took the top spot in Bracket 1 with $4,400 earned. He recorded a 10.4-second run for second place and $1,900 in Round 1 and backed that up with an 8.6-second run to win $2,500 for first in Round 2.
Cash Enderli ranked second in the First Bracket, picking up a check on both of his runs to earn $2,500.
The 2026 FWSSR Rookie Rally Champion, Ace Reese, rounded out those advancing with $1,900 to get to the Wild Card.
Douch has some positive recent history in Fort Worth, placing second in 2024.
Saddle Bronc Riding
Darcy Radel was the winner of Bracket 1 in his FWSSR debut, a majority of his $3,400 coming from 87.5-point ride on Kowkow Rodeos’ Me Mojo to win Round 2.
Allen Boore was second after splitting third with Radel in Round 1 and adding another third place finish in Round 2 with rides of 84.5 and 83 points.
Traylin Martin snuck into the final spot out of the Bracket with an 86-point Second Round ride, netting him $2,025 through both rounds to grab the Wild Card spot.
Team Roping
Dawson and Dillon Graham led the pack in Bracket 1. The brothers earned $4,000 each from a Round 1 winning 5.3-second run and a 5.6-second run for a second-place finish in Round 2.
The Graham Brothers finished third in last year’s FWSSR en route to their first National Finals Rodeo.
Cody Snow and Hunter Koch qualified second with $3,500 on their two runs, one of which was 4.0-second run to win Round 2.
Kolby Krieger and Michael Fortenberry earned $2,025 to get the Wild Card.
Steer Wrestling
Jacob Daniell won Bracket 1 runs of 4.7 and 4.3 seconds, the latter of which when him Round 2. He made $4,000 in total from both runs, which is the largest paycheck of his career.
Tyler Scheevel qualified second with $2,025 and Colin Fox, the Rookie Rally Champion, is off to the Wild Card.
Bareback Riding
Jacob Lees earned $4,400 and was the top qualifier in Bracket 1 with Leighton Berry was a close behind at $4,000
Orin Larsen will go to the Wild Card, but impressed as well with $3,400.
All three bareback riders battled for first, second, and third place each round. Berry emerged victorious in the First Round with 86.5 points on Brookman Rodeo’s Ruffie’s Rage. Lees won the Second Round with an 89.5-point ride on Brookman Rodeo’s Lunatic Heaven.
Lees placed 4th in last year’s FWSSR.
