The Summer Run is fast approaching as athletes in every event continue to jockey for position prior to hitting the gas hard for the next 3+ months.

Over the weekend, the inaugural Music City Rodeo in Nashville provided some fireworks, but that $300,000 rodeo was supplemented by several others that paid over $100,000.

Headliner – Stetson Wright: The eight-time World Champion had a huge weekend in both of his events. He swept the bull riding and saddle bronc riding at the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo and cashed in an additional $6,900 for a second place finish at the Music City Rodeo in bull riding and $1,700 for second in the saddle bronc riding in Herriman, Utah.

Hidden Gem – Brady Turgeon: The 21-year-old has gotten on just six bulls in the PRCA this season and started 0-for-4 before winning the Legends of the West Rodeo on April 5 and the Home of the Navajo Rodeo on June 1. The latter paid him over $5,500.

Headliner – Joel Harris: Harris made a blistering 7.4-second run to finish second at the Music City Rodeo and also finished second in the Average at the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo. He banked $9,108 total and moved from No. 22 to No. 14 in the PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Standings.

Hidden Gem – Hayden Ford: The 22-year-old tie-down roper swept Santa Maria for his second win in as many weeks and also took fifth at the Home of the Navajo Rodeo.

Headliner – Bryce Jensen: Jensen has been lights out over the last weeks, jumping from No. 20 to No. 12 in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings. He covered five straight bulls last week and won at least $1,500 for all of them. He was third at the Santa Maria Xtreme Bulls and Rodeo Celina (Texas) and second at the rodeo in Santa Maria.

Hidden Gem – Creek Young: The four-time NFR qualifier represents another bull rider on a tear as he has ridden three of his last five, all three of which resulted in a rodeo win. Over the weekend, he was victorious at Old Fort Days and the Durant Pro Rodeo with rides of 87 and 84 points respectively.

Headliner – Wacey Schalla: On the last out of the Music City Rodeo, the No. 1 bull rider in the PRCA was 88 points on the final out of the inaugural event to win $8,719 and he tallied $6,900 more for winning the Santa Maria Xtreme Bulls. He also took second in the bareback riding in Santa Maria. He is No. 2 in the PRCA All-Around World Standings.
