There were no big rodeos to speak of over the weekend in the PRCA, but that gave an opportunity to some of both this week’s headliners and hidden gems to stack checks at several smaller rodeos in either California or Texas.

Headliner – Lefty Holman: After an 85-point ride to win the Woodlake Lions Rodeo, Holman has now won three rodeos in a row in California, one each of the last three weekends. During that time, he also won $2,400 for fifth in Clovis giving him four straight checks of over $1,000.

Hidden Gem – Kash Martin: The 20-year-old bareback rider is coming off his best weekend of the season. He won three checks and finished third or better in all three rodeos he entered, including a win at the Panola County Cattleman’s Rodeo. This same weekend in 2024, he placed in the same three rodeos — Panola County, Crockett, and Tops in Texas.

Headliner – Tucker Bourdet: The 22-year-old has cracked the Top 50 in the PRCA Saddle Bronc Riding World Standings after winning the Mother Lode Rodeo with an 87-point ride and taking third at the Woodlake Lions Rodeo over the weekend. He has won a check in five of his last seven rodeos.

Hidden Gem – Mason Spain: Spain has ridden three of his last four bulls and won rodeos each of the last two weekends. Most recently, he was 84 points to earn $4,700 at the Woodlake Lions Rodeo.

Headliner – T Parker: The 21-year-old bull rider added his third in win in Texas and fourth on the year when he covered Cat Wrangler for 85 points to win the Panola County Cattlemen’s Rodeo on May 10. Parker is 4-for-6 with two wins since April 24 and is No. 6 in the PRCA World Standings.

Hidden Gem – Cooper Thatcher: Thatcher bested his season-high mark in the saddle bronc riding by 3.5 points over the weekend when he was 86.5 on Chrome Buckle of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo for second in the Tops in Texas Rodeo.

Headliner – Julie Plourde: Plorude won three checks of over the weekend, the most notable being a win in Panola County. In May, she has finished seventh or better in every rodeo she has competed in.

Hidden Gem – Gator Goodrich: In his first rodeo since San Angelo, the Oregon native got to the win at Colorama in Grand Coulee, Washington. His 9.5-second run was the only sub-10 second tie-down time for the entire rodeo.
