After Friday night’s performance wrapped up Round 3, there’s only one round standing between us and crowning the 49th Indian National Finals Rodeo World Champions.

In the bareback riding, Jackson Ford was 80 points to win Round 3 and with Cauy Betony missing his horse out, Ford now leads the Aggregate by five points over Evan Betony with 230 points on three.

In steer wrestling, Rooster Yazzie’s 4.74-second run held for the Round 3 win and the Average tightened up. With 17.44 on three, Tyler John Byrne still leads, but Blevyns Jumper, Matt Jodie, and Ty Allen Fischer are now all within 1.45 seconds of the lead.

Kassidy Dennison continued to be rock solid in the breakaway roping by stopping the clock at 3 seconds flat, which helped her to a lead of 1.3 seconds in the Aggregate. Danielle Lowman, who roped Thursday night, was the Round 3 winner with a 1.97-second run, the fastest of the rodeo.

Creighton Curley and Cash Wilson are No. 1 and No. 2 in the Aggregate and split the Round 3 win with 77 points. Wilson did so on Who Made Who, the 18-year-old horses last career out. Curley is 243 points on three while Wilson is at 234.

Dontre Goff’s 8.43-second run on Friday night wasn’t good enough to beat Erich Rogers’ 7.98 from Thursday for the Round 3 win, but it was more than enough for the Tour Champion to factor into the Average race. Goff jumped from No. 5 to No. 2 and now trails Dalton Porch, who won the first two rounds, by just 1.27 seconds.

In team roping, brother Wawa and Brandon Ben surged to the lead in the Aggregate by winning Round 3 with a 4.90-second run. They made up nearly five seconds on Ty Vaile/Wyatt Gibson in the Go-Round and now lead that pair by on three by a tally of 1.52 seconds.

Erin Jones is holding on to her wire-to-wire lead in the barrel racing, but things got a little tighter in that event as well. Reigning World Champion Quinley Inman, who won Round 3 on Friday night, moved to third at 46.582 on three, Yvette Vega is at 46.571, and Jones is atop the leaderboard at 46.431.

After the dust settled in the bull riding, two cowboys remain 2-for-2. Tahj Wells was 83 points to get there first, only to be answered by Cole Brewer’s 79. As it standings right now, Brewer has totaled 244 points to Wells’ 243. Round 3 winner Teigan Gray is not out of the race either, going for 87 Friday night to bring his score to 162 points on two.
