The star power was on full display once again in Round 2 of the NFR.

Of course, if we’re talking star power, the best place to start is Rocker Steiner. No one draws more attention in the media room after winning a round and no one approaches the interviews with more charisma.

He was No. 1 on Friday night as the last cowboy out with 88 points on Bridwell’s Silver Beaver, overcoming the thought of Round 2 a year ago, when he bucked off, in the process.

In steer wrestling, Tucker Allen showed he would not get lost in the shuffle of this year’s World Title race. After entering No. 5, he is up to No. 2 in the World after a 3.6-second run in Round 2.

It was a leaderboard dotted with World Title contenders. No. 1 Will Lummus split third with 4 flat and Tyler Waguespack and Jesse Brown, No. 3 and 4 respectively, were both 4.1 for fifth.

The Top 4 in the bulldogging are separated by about $40,000.

The team roping is much tighter across the board. Jake Smith/Douglas Rich won the round with a 3.9 while Ward/Long and Tomlinson/Graves took advantage once again.

Ward and Long were 4.1 to split second after a 4.2 to win second outright on Thursday and Tomlinson/Graves have turned in back-to-back fifth place finishes.

Just like that, Tomlinson leads the World Standings on the head side by less than $1,000 over Ward and about $2,500 over Kaleb Driggers, who entered No. 1. Meanwhile on the heel side, Driggers’ partner Junior Nogueira is clinging to a $130 lead over Jake Long.

In saddle bronc riding, Damian Brennan went 90 to win the round and take the lead in the World Standings by about $2,000 over Ryder Wright.

He bested Zeke Thurston and Stetson Wright, who were both 89.

In tie-down roping, Shad Mayfield has quickly made the Gold Buckle race very interesting after splitting Round 2 at 7.8 with Dylan Hancock and Marty Yates.

Mayfield has virtually Webb’s $50,000 lead and now sits just $1,500 behind the two-time World Champion.

As for Hancock and Yates, they now sit No. 3 and 4 in the World. Hancock has now won three of his last five Go-Rounds inside the Thomas & Mack last year.

After a familiar face in Kassie Mowry won Round 1, another familiar face won Round 2 in the barrel racing. Hailey Kinsel, for the 26th time.

This time, she and Sister dashed to a time of 13.53 seconds. Kinsel now leads Mowry by about $4,000 as they have picked up right where they left off from 2024.

Stetson Wright watched as Ky Hamilton and Wacey Schalla each moved to 2-for-2 and then did the same himself. Both of his rides have resulted in Go-Round Wins and despite back-to-back rides of 88.5 points from Schalla, Wright leads the World Standings by about $20,000.
