It’s a mixed bag through seven nights of the 2025 Wrangler NFR. Some World Title races are getting closer to being put on ice while others feel like they are only just the beginning.

Starting in the bareback riding, where things are suddenly a bit more interesting. Jess Pope won the round with 88 points on Pete Carr’s Foxhole Gunner. He now sits second in the Average and is No. 3 in the Projected World Standings, only about $65,000 behind No. 1 Rocker Steiner.

Steiner dropped three spots in the Average after a 77-point ride in Round 7.

In steer wrestling, Rowdy Parrott made it two years in a row with a Go-Round win thanks to a 4 flat. Tucker Allen was second and greatly helped his World Title cause in the process. Because he leads the Average, he is about $65,000 out front in the Projected World Standings after his $28,000+ check on Wednesday night.

In team roping, the Graham brothers took the victory lap with a 3.5-second run in a round that required a 3.9 or faster to get a check.

Statler Wright won the bronc riding for the second night in a row, this time with 89.75 on Flying U’s Talk Derby 2 Me.

Zeke Thurston and Stetson Wright split second with 88.5 points. Thurston remains the leader in the Average by 4.5 points over Statler Wright and it is now more or less a three-man race between Thuston, Statler and Ryder Wright.

Thurston is the Projected World Champion by about $35,000 over Ryder and $40,000 over Statler.

Tie-down roping was one by Joel Harris for the second straight night, giving him four in just 17 NFR performances.

Meanwhile, Riley Webb went to the lead in the World Standings and the Average and because of the Average, he has opened a lead of over $100,000 on Shad Mayfield in the Projected World Standings.

In barrel racing, Hayle Gibson-Stillwell was 13.45 seconds to get her first career Go-Round win in her seventh career NFR run.

Kassie Mowry took third and it looks more and more like she is going to repeat as the World Champion as she leads the World Standings, Average Standings and Projected World Champion.

In bull riding, only two cowboys rode and TJ Gray was the best of the pair with 90.5 on McCoy Rodeo’s Blue Duck. Both he and Bryce Jensen moved to 4-for-7 on the 2025 NFR. In 2024, only five bull riders rode at least four bulls.

He won $63,000 and moved up to No. 4 in the World Standings behind Stetson Wright, Wacey Schalla and Ky Hamilton.
