Las Vegas Events and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association announced Friday afternoon that both organizations fully intend to have a safe and complete NFR. With that in mind, they have updated the equine health guidelines due to the outbreak of EHV-1.

All NFR horses must have a Seven-Day Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, a Nevada entry permit number, and daily temperature monitoring. They are also subject to a no-travel advisory during the event. The Thomas & Mack Center will enforce enhanced check-in procedures and strict biosecurity measures throughout the NFR.

These guidelines were determined with the help of the Nevada Department of Agriculture and the Texas Animal Health Commission and similar protocols will be followed for the Junior NFR as well.

The outbreak of EHV-1 has already led to the cancelation of the Prairie Circuit Finals and Uvalde Rodeo Qualifier among other equine events.
