Trey Benton III will have to put his quest to make his first NFR since 2021 on hold after breaking his right tibia on March 21 in Austin.
According to ProRodeo.com, he had two screws put in his leg on March 26 and hopes to be able to return to action in June.
Benton III is 13-for-28 on the season and notched wins at the Brighton Field Days Xtreme Bulls (Florida), Georgia National Rodeo, and Xtreme Bull Bash (Texas). He is No. 8 in the PRCA World Standings as of April 2.
“Had an accident last night in Austin fracturing my tibia,” he wrote on Instagram. “Looking like the strongest, fastest way to heal would get surgery and get a rod in it. Thanks to everyone for all the support. We plan on getting back on track before summer.”
