These 20 Breakaway Ropers Are Still Alive in Houston
Winning RodeoHouston is massive in every event, but perhaps none moreso than breakaway roping, where the $65,000 first place payday is about three-quarters of what is needed to make the NFR on just one run.
Here are the 20 cowgirls still alive for the big prize.
Super Series 1
Shayla Hall – $6,000: Hall claimed Rounds 1 and 3 with runs of 3.9 and 3.6 seconds to win the Super Series in her 2025 Texas Swing debut.
Taylor Munsell – $4,250: Sandwiched between Hall’s two Go-Round wins was Munsell making the fastest run of the rodeo so far, a 2.6, to win Round 2.
Beau Peterson – $3,000: Peterson placed in two of three rounds, including a 3.7-second run for second in Round 3 to secure her Semifinal spot.
TiAda Gray – $2,750: Gray swept her Super Series a year ago, and while she didn’t make it look so easy this time around, she did enough to move on.
Super Series 2
Sawyer Gilbert – $3,250: In a very close Super Series, Gilbert pulled ahead thanks to a fourth place finish in Round 1 and a share of first in Round 3.
Tacy Webb – $3,000: Webb made two runs in the 3s, a 3.6 for second in Round 2 and a 3.9 in Round 3 for second and third respectively.
Madison Outhier – $3,000: Outhier’s lone check came from an outright win of Round 2 with a 3.4-second run.
Braylee Shepherd – $3,000: Shepherd’s time in Super Series 2 look a lot like Outhier’s. A 3.4-second time won her Round 1.
Super Series 3
Aspen Miller – $6,750: Miller finished as the highest earning breakaway roper in the Progressive Rounds with a fourth place finish in Round 1 followed by wins in Rounds 2 and 3 with times of 2.8 and 3.1 seconds.
Wilow Wilson – $4,000: Wilson was 3.3 seconds to win Round 1 and then 3.4 for third in Round 2.
Bradi Good – $2,625: Good started the Super Series with ties for second and fourth with a 3.4 in Round 1 and a 3.6 in Round 2.
Cheyanne McCartney – $2,625: McCartney’s 3.4 for second in Round 3 is ultimately what sent her through.
Super Series 4
Jackie Crawford – $6,000: Crawford turned in three runs of 3.8 or faster, including a 3.0 to win Round 2.
Kendal Pierson – $4,500: Pierson finished first, third and fifth with runs of 3.0, 4.3, and 5.2 seconds.
Kinlie Brennise – $4,000: Brennise finished the Super Series with a pair of second place finishes for runs of 4.1 and 3.2 seconds.
Rickie Fanning – $3,000: Fanning won Round 3 with the fastest run of the rodeo, a 2.7.
Super Series 5
Maddy Deerman, $5,250: Deerman was 4 flat or faster on all three runs and won Round 1 with a 3.3.
Joey Williams, $3,750: Williams split the Round 2 win with a 2.9-second run and the next night was 3.6 for third in Round 3.
Macy Young, $3,250: Young was the cowgirl who split Round 2 with Williams. She was also 4.2 on Tuesday night for fourth.
Shelby Boisjoli-Meged, $3,000: With her back against the wall, Boisjoli-Meged made a 2.8-second run to win Round 3.
