RodeoHouston is the highest paying rodeo in the PRCA and the payout got even bigger in 2025 as it increased to $2.5 million.

Things got started in Super Series 1 on Tuesday night.

Waylon Bourgeois and Sam Petersen, who finished No. 18 and No. 20 a season ago, both got things going on the right foot in the bareback riding with 86 points each to split Round 1 and win $2,500 apiece.

In saddle bronc riding, Dawson Hay got that top prize all to himself by going for 87 on Cervi Championship’s Canyon Sunset. It was the No. 2 ranked cowboy’s 10th ride of 87 or more on the season.

The final roughstock winner of the night was Brody Yeary, who along with Mason Moody, were the only two to make the whistle.

Steer wrestler Dalton Massey had not done much so far in 2025, but the 2023 champion felt right at home in Houston once again, winning Round 1 of Super Series 1 with a 5.1-second run.

In the team roping, it was a similar time on top, 5.0 won it for Kaden Profili/Brenten Hall.

In breakaway roping, there were just four qualified runs and Shayla Hall’s 3.9 was the best.

In a talented tie-down roping group, Kincade Henry was No. 1 on Tuesday with a 9.5-second run to beat out Marty Yates by two-tenths, but nothing was as close as the barrel racing. Paige Jones was one one-hundredth of a second better than Lisa Lockhart.
