Pioneer Week in Utah is one of the most important and tradition-rich stretches on the ProRodeo calendar.

Held every July, it includes three major rodeos, Ogden Pioneer Days, Spanish Fork Fiesta Days, and the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, offering a combined $2 million in prize money and drawing top rodeo athletes from across the world.

This week-long celebration honors Utah’s pioneer heritage, dating back to the 1847 arrival of settlers in the Salt Lake Valley. Each rodeo brings something unique: Ogden Pioneer Days is a Hall of Fame event with nearly a century of sellouts. Spanish Fork Fiesta Days is woven into the town’s identity with 82 consecutive sellouts. The Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo caps the week in Salt Lake City, awarding Olympic-style medals that reflect the city’s Olympic legacy.

Beyond the money and medals, Pioneer Week is about legacy, grit, and a community’s pride. It’s a crucial stop for NFR hopefuls and a powerful showcase of what makes rodeo matter.
