The Austin Gamblers are looking to defend home turf at an optimal time in the season. After an 0-2 showing in Duluth, Georgia to close July, they have won six in a row to start August and last weekend, in Nashville they covered 60 percent of their bulls as team.

If they were to rattle off three in a row in front of the home crowd, they would match the Ridge Riders at nine for the longest win streak of the 2025 season.

More on that, and four other storylines to watch from this weekend’s action below…

Austin Gamblers look to extend six-game win streak at home.

Even without reigning UTB Champion Jose Vitor Leme last weekend, the Gamblers still went 3-0 to extend their win streak to six. Dalton Kasel was 3-for-3 in place of Leme in the closer role and leadoff man Sage Kimzey is 6-of-11, appearing in every game for the Gamblers. It is also worth noting the competition they bested in Nashville, two of their three wins came against teams with winning records including the league-leading Ridge Riders. The Gamlbers face the Freedom, Rattlers, and Cowboys this weekend at the Moody Center.

Will the New York Mavericks continue to channel the energy they brought to Nashville?

The Mavericks started the season 1-7, registering just eight qualified rides in the first eight games. In Nashville, last weekend they rode a total of seven bulls and went 2-1 thanks to their leadoff man Bob Mitchell, who went 3-for-3 and closer Marco Rizzo, who got his first career walk-off ride. Mavericks coach Kody Lostroh said this week he believes his team is only starting to scratch the surface of what they are capable of this year.

Arizona Ridge Riders seek to keep to No. 1 spot in the standings.

The Ridge Riders entered last weekend on a seven-game win streak and stretched it to nine, the second-longest in PBR Teams history, before the Gamblers snapped it on Sunday. Even so, there’s still plenty to be positive about for the Ridge Riders. They boast four riders with at least four qualified rides, including Luciano De Castro and Everton da Silva with eight and seven respectively. They’ve also beaten every team in the league this season except the Missouri Thunder, whom they’ll face this weekend along with the Kansas City Outlaws and Oklahoma Wildcatters.

Can the Nashville Stampede stay hot?

The Stampede doubled their win total last weekend in dramatic fashion, notching two walk-off victories courtesy of Cody Jesus in his first two outings as the team’s closer this season. They rode eight bulls during their homestand, twice their previous season-high for a single weekend. Alan de Souza also shined, going a perfect 3-for-3 as the leadoff man. This weekend, they’ll take on the Rattlers, Freedom, and Mavericks.

Missouri Thunder look to convert wins after seven-ride weekend in Nashville.

The Thunder rode a season-high seven bulls last weekend, but it only translated to one victory. They’re still They made a splash away from the dirt on Friday as well, trading Trace Redd and first round pick to the Texas Rattlers for Maculie Leather, the No. 3 pick in the 2025 draft.
