PBR Billings concluded on Saturday and the penultimate regular season event was one of the most compelling of the 2026 UTB season.

The event featured eight 90+ point rides, with five coming in the Short Round, a back-and-forth Team Challenge Semifinals, and the best outs from both bull and rider the Tour has seen all season.

Brady Fielder won his third event of the season in Billings with an Aggregate Score of 265.96. It is the first time he has won three times in a UTB season and his previous two event wins, he came from behind to snatch the victory.

After having just his second weekend this season without a qualified ride in Sioux Falls, Fielder couldn’t let his opportunity be a Top 3 rider dwindle any longer.

He started off his weekend with an 88.3 on Triple Trouble in the First Round and came back Saturday to cover XIT Knock Out for 85.25 in Round 2. This put him 4th heading into the Short Round, where he chose Nobody to ride.

With three event lead changes occurring before him, and three riders still to go after him, Fielder was in an awkward position. Nevertheless, the only thing he could do in that situation was ride, and ride he did.

Fielder covered Nobody for a season-best 92.4 points. Nobody threw his bag of tricks Fielder’s way, but he was ready, matching the bull for an incredible eight seconds.

To Fielder’s luck, the next three subsequent rides ended in buckoffs, thus securing the event win for himself.

It netted him 124 Event Points and those 124 Points pushed him past Leandro Zampollo and Sage Kimzey, making Fielder the new No. 2 in the World Standings. Fielder is tied Kimzey for the most wins on Tour this season.

Other Top Performers

John Crimber

Crimber entered PBR Billings with a 220.5 point lead on the rest of the tour and was sitting comfortably. Everything about Crimber would indicate he knows the best defense is offense, and he put together an immaculate performance this past weekend, extending his Tour lead to 247.5 points.

Crimber’s weekend began with a buck-off Friday against Rack ‘em Willie, but he wouldn’t be down for long. No other rider scored more points in a single day this season than Crimber on Saturday. He started by covering Getcha Some for 90.05 for his third 90+ score of the season. This booked his ninth-place ticket to the Short Round. Thanks to a re-ride opportunity, Crimber would face the elite bull Fire Zone in his final ride. Crimber had no way to win the event, as he was a ride short, but he rode like everything was on the line.

In what he described as “The craziest eight seconds of my life,” Crimber covered Fire Zone for a 2026 UTB tour season-high score of 93.95.

It’s the second-biggest ride of his career, and the best since he went for 95 points at the 2024 World Finals.

Crimber reminded the world that he is all in chasing that Golden Buckle.

He finished the weekend with 184 Aggregate Points, good for fifth place in the event. He earned 65 more Event Points, bringing his season total to 964.5.

Jess Lockwood

The Montana native made a late-season splash in Billings, the same place where he won his very first event on Tour.

Lockwood returned from a nearly two-month injury hiatus at PBR Sioux Falls last week and covered 1-of-3 bulls, scoring 89.15 points on Stryker in his first ride back.

Lockwood wasted no time getting the ball rolling in Billings, covering Gene’s Best for 88.45 in the First Round. He then took a huge step Saturday, riding for a season-high 91.9 on Rockville, winning the Second Round. It was his fourth round win of the season and his second round win on Rockville. It was also his second 90+ ride of the season.

Lockwood led all riders into the Short Round, choosing to ride Semi Sober. With a chance to win it all in front of his Montana faithful, Lockwood rode a gritty for 5.7 seconds before being bucked off.

Despite the bittersweet ending, he finished sixth, earning 56 Event Points, putting him now ranked 20th overall.

Missed Opportunities

Sage Kimzey

Since winning PBR Little Rock, Kimzey had covered just four of his past 11 bulls without any qualified rides consecutively in that time.

He did make the Short Round last week in Sioux Falls, but to no avail.

Kimzey came into Billings 220.5 points short of No. 1 John Crimber, needing to close that gap however he could. Unfortunately, Kimzey finished 16th in the event, only covering Slim Pickens for 87.1 points. It’s his fifth consecutive event without riding multiple bulls.

To make matters worse, Brady Fielder overtook Kimzey in the World Standings, pushing him down to No. 3.

Kimzey has 687 UTB Points for this season, which puts him 78.5 points ahead of fourth-place Leandro Zampollo and 30 points behind Fielder.

Leandro Zampollo

Zampollo returned to action this last weekend after rehabbing a groin injury that kept him out of Sioux Falls.

He covered one bull, J Lazy S, for 86.95 in the Second Round and was unable to secure a Short Round bid.

He earned only 13 Event points, bringing his season total to 608.5 and he dropped back to No. 4 as Fielder passed him as well.

PBR Tacoma will be crucial for Zampollo, as it will be for every rider, but as he battles a groin injury, eyes will be on him to see if he can rise above the expectations once again in the season finale.

Monster Energy Team Challenge Recap

The penultimate matchup of the Team Challenge season concluded Friday night with the Austin Gamblers defeating the Kansas City Outlaws 347.7-261.45.

The teams traded blows, with the Outlaws holding the lead before re-rides, thanks once again to Cassio Dias’ heroics with the season on the line. Dias was 90.2 on Black Eyes for his second 90+ score of the season.

The Gamblers bit back in the final frames, however, when Dener Barbosa and Dalton Kasel both made the whistle in their re-ride opportunities, tilting the game in the Gamblers’ favor.

The Gamblers advance to the Team Challenge Finals at PBR Tacoma next weekend, where they will take on the Missouri Thunder for the title.

Career Highs in the Championship Round

Bob Mitchell was 91.15 on Tigger for the best ride of his career. He finished the weekend in second, covering all three of his bulls.

Hudson Bolton covered Eyes On Me for 90.95 in the Short Round and finished third overall. It is the second 90+ Point Ride of his UTB career.

Pegasus bucked off Jose Vitor Leme in a ride where he scored a career-best Bull Score of 46.7. It was the largest Bull Score of the season, until Ransom stole the show.

Ransom faced Cassio Dias in the Short Round, bucking him off in a 47.85-point performance. That’s the best out of Ransom’s career, and this UTB season. It vaulted Ransom to the No. 2 spot in the World Bull Rankings.
