Round 6 of the 2026 World Finals did not disappoint, as the World Title race was shaken up once again.
While some riders found success inside Dickies Arena, many struggled as the World Finals approached its boiling point.
John Crimber finally put together a qualified ride and showed he is not backing down from the title fight. Paulo Eduardo Rossetto and Brady Fielder kept their championship hopes alive. And Hudson Bolton remained perfect. But only one rider emerged as the Round 6 champion, and that was Thiago Salgado.
Salgado won Round 6 by covering Oyster Creek Brawler for 90.05 points. He made good use of his draft pick, having already ridden the bull for 88 points in 2025.
It marked both the third round win and the third 90-point ride of his season. Salgado improved to 2-for-6 with 180.65 Aggregate points, good for 14th in the Event Standings.
It was a memorable night for Salgado, but once again, the night belonged to Hudson Bolton, who remained a perfect 6-for-6 in Fort Worth.
“I’m just out here having fun,” Bolton said after taking a two-bull lead at the World Finals.
He earned the third pick in the Round 6 bull draft thanks to his 91.3-point ride Thursday, when he selected Dirty Honey.
Bolton chose well, staying in complete control aboard Dirty Honey. He even flashed a peace sign toward the chute-side camera before the whistle sounded, creating one of the most memorable rides of the 2026 season.
Bolton covered the bull for 87.25 points as the crowd roared behind him. It marked his 13th consecutive qualified ride, tying for the fourth-longest ride streak in PBR history. If he stays perfect Saturday, he will tie Jose Vitor Leme and Guilherme Marchi for the third-longest streak in PBR history at 14.
With 532.2 Aggregate Points, Bolton now holds a commanding 176.8-point lead in the Event Standings. The World Finals have become his to lose, and he has shown no signs of slowing down.
The 2025 UTB Rookie of the Year entered the World Finals ranked No. 19 in the world. He now sits No. 10 with 466.5 Season points and a legitimate shot at the 2026 PBR World Title.
Bolton’s road to the Gold Buckle became more complicated Friday night, however, as World No. 1 John Crimber reminded everyone the title is still his to lose.
Facing July, Crimber matched the bull move for move for eight seconds to record his first qualified ride of the 2026 World Finals. He earned 89.4 points to finish fifth in the round. The score pushed him past 1,000 Season points, making him the first rider this season to reach the mark. He exited Round 6 with 1,010.5 points.
If the season ended after Round 6, Crimber would still be the World Champion despite Bolton’s heroics.
Crimber may have found the momentum he needed, but he will have to maintain it Saturday and Sunday to secure the World Title.
No. 3 Sage Kimzey stumbled with his fourth consecutive buckoff Friday night, but No. 2 Brady Fielder and No. 6 Paulo Eduardo Rossetto kept the World Title race alive with qualified rides of their own.
Rossetto earned his fourth qualified ride of the event by covering Cookie for 85.8 points, vaulting him to fourth in the Event Standings.
Rossetto now has 590 Season Points, and his World Title hopes remain alive if he can overtake Bolton and win the World Finals Aggregate.
Fielder also remains in contention, although his three qualified rides will make an Event Title difficult to achieve. Fortunately for the Australian, he does not need to win the event to become World Champion.
Fielder can still surpass Crimber in the World Standings with a second- or third-place finish in Fort Worth. In Round 6, he covered Sour Patch for 86.6 points, moving to seventh in the Event Standings with 262.8 Aggregate Points.
Rookie of the Year
The plot in the 2026 UTB Rookie of the Year race thickened Friday night as both Maverick Smith and Marco Rizzo recorded qualified rides.
Smith earned his third qualified ride of the event to maintain a one-ride advantage over Rizzo at the World Finals. He scored 85.05 points aboard Lap Dancer, solidifying his position at No. 10 in the event standings.
Rizzo answered with an 86.25-point ride aboard Ugly This during a re-ride opportunity.
The race appears headed for a Sunday showdown, although both riders will have an opportunity to swing the momentum in their favor Saturday.
Rest of the Best
Eduardo Aparecido built on his immaculate 96.1-point ride in Round 5 by posting 89.55 points to move into 11th in the Event Standings.
Alex Cerqueira also stayed hot, recording his second consecutive qualified ride by covering Bex Red Eye for 89.05 points. Cerqueira sits No. 5 in the World Standings and No. 12 in the Event Standings.
They are part of a group of eight riders who remained a perfect 2-for-2 on bulls inside Dickies Arena.
Jess Lockwood missed his third round of this year’s World Finals while dealing with a back injury. Michael Lane received the call Friday morning to replace Lockwood, and he delivered. Lane rode XIT Socks In A Box for 88.05 points, recording his first qualified ride at the PBR World Finals since 2015.
Trace Redd scored 86.4 points aboard Constant Payne for the first qualified ride of his PBR World Finals career.
Cassio Dias improved to 5-for-5 on Tulsa Time, covering the bull for 89.65 points in Round 6. Dias climbed to No. 11 in the World Standings with 458.5 Season Points.
There were 19 qualified rides in Round 6, the highest total for any round so far at the 2026 World Finals.
