The Woodward Elks Rodeo celebrated its 96th year with its biggest prize pool ever of $196,125.

Both new faces and seasoned veterans found glory in Oklahoma as the PRCA heads into its summer swing.

Lane McGehee scored a season-high 86 on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Quite Fancy, winning the bareback riding event. He beat out a pair of 85.5s from Tim O’Connell and Jayco Roper. The No. 31-ranked bareback rider earned $3,807, the largest check of his season.

Four-time NFR qualifier Riley Duvall found one of his quickest outs of the year, going 4.1 seconds to win the steer wrestling event. The 34-year-old hadn’t cashed a check since April. The $2,956 he earned moved him to No. 27 in the World Standings.

Tanner Tomlinson and Wesley Thorp were the quickest in Woodward, going 4.6 seconds, beating out two teams’ 4.7s and winning the event. The pair has been roping together since late April, and the $4,653 they each earned in Woodward is the biggest check they’ve earned together thus far.

Tagg Bond won Woodward, going 86 points on Dakota Rodeo’s Smoke Show and earning $3,920. It was both the biggest score and biggest check of the 19-year-old’s career. Woodward was Bond’s second straight saddle bronc riding win; he won the Mesquite Championship Rodeo the week prior, and it was his third win of the season.

Three-time Tie-Down Roping World Champion Riley Webb was a full second ahead of the rest, going 7.5 seconds to take the event win. It’s his 12th Go-Round win of the season. Webb earned $4,829, pushing his season earnings to more than $150,000 and becoming the third PRCA athlete to cross that threshold this season, joining Rusty and Stetson Wright.

Webb holds a tight grip on the World No. 1 tie-rown roping ranking with a lead of more than $30,000.

Two-time NFR qualifier Andrea Busby was 16.82 seconds to win the event and $3,682. It was a much-needed win, as Busby remains outside the Top 50 in the Barrel Racing World Standings with about $16,000 earned this season.

John Crimber picked up his third rodeo win in three days at Woodward, this time going a new career-high 92.5 points on Powder River Rodeo’s Kippers Ripper.

Crimber had won Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days Xtreme Bulls and Gladewater Round-Up Xtreme Bulls in the days preceding his Woodward performance.

With 12 Go-Round wins and $82,297 in season earnings, Crimber has moved up to No. 7 in the World Bull Riding Standings.
