Athletes to Watch in Bracket 8 of the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo

It’s the final qualifying doubleheader at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo on Friday and Bracket 8 features four 2024 PRCA World Champions. The last spots for the Semifinals are up for grabs, and it’s on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
BAREBACK RIDING
Taylor Broussard – The cajun cowboy got off to a fast start a year ago to make his first NFR since 2021 and did so once again this season, he’s No. 3 in the PRCA World Standings.
STEER WRESTLING
Cody Devers – Thanks to wins at the Cooks Rodeo Days (Texas) and Ram Prairie Circuit Finals, the two-time NFR qualifier is No. 2 in the World.
Ty Bauerle – The 22-year-old finished No. 29 as a Resistol Rookie in 2024. He has two checks so far in 2025 and this will be his first PRCA Playoff Series Rodeo
TEAM ROPING
Tyler Wade/Wesley Thorp – The first reigning World Champions we’ll see tonight, they enter No. 3 in the World Standings thanks to five checks in October of 2024.
SADDLE BRONC RIDING
Kade Bruno – Thanks to a massive payday at the Brad Gjermundson Xtreme Broncs, Bruno already has over $36,000 in 2025 and is No. 1 in the World Standings. The 24-year-old has made the last three NFRs.
Ryder Wright – After “down years” that saw him finish No. 10 and No. 7 in 2022 and 2023, Wright was back at the top of the podium in December, winning his third Gold Buckle. He already has four rides of 86.5 points or better in the 2025 season.
TIE-DOWN ROPING
Haven Meged – Meged has been to six straight NFRs and finished No. 2 and No. 3 the last two seasons.
Riley Webb – The man Meged, and the rest of the PRCA, has been chasing the last two years is up tonight looking for his second National Western title. After striking out in Odessa, he hopes to chart his course for a third straight World Title in December.
BARREL RACING
Hailey Kinsel – Kinsel makes her 2025 debut tonight, and her and Sister always thrive in small arenas.
BULL RIIDNG
TJ Gray – Gray made his first NFR in 2024 and finished No. 1 in the Regular Season Standings. He has ridden 4-of-6 bulls this season.
