The Greeley Stampede has become a major player in the Summer Run as the official kickoff to Cowboy Christmas. It’s also a place that can certainly be a proving ground for World Champions as five of them won here a year ago.

Stats to Know

A bull rider hasn’t been 89+ since Tyler Bingham was 90 points on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Shooting Stars to win Greeley in 2019.

Every single steer wrestling round winner since 2022 has been 4.0 or faster. The average time among the past four Average winners in Greeley is 4.17 seconds.

Three of the last four bareback Average winners have won the First Round. That early cushion has proven vital for event success.

The last four saddle bronc riding champions have all finished between 173 and 176 points on two.

Since 2022, just eight bull riders have covered both bulls at Greeley. In 2025 and 2022, just one rider covered both bulls.

The average round-winning time in the team roping over the last four years has been 4.53 and winning times have ranged anywhere from 3.6 to 5.3 seconds.

Last year was the highest-scoring bareback riding in Greeley in the last four years. Rocker Steiner’s 178 points on two and Waylon Bourgeois’ 175 were both higher than the last three Average champions.

Each of the last four tie-down roping winners have won a round and three of them have won the Finals.

Mitchell Story’s 92 on Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Green Bay last year was the only 90+ Point saddle bronc ride in Greeley in the last 10 years.

Athletes to Watch

Halyn Lide – Lide has made three straight Finals appearances in Greeley, including winning the Finals and Average in 2024. She was also third in 2025. In the last two seasons, Lide has won at least $1,000 on four of her last six runs and totaled $17,254.

Damian Brennan – The Aussie won the bronc riding Finals in both 2023 and 2024 with rides of 87.5 and 89 points. He finished third in the Average in 2023 and won it in 2024.

Jess Pope – Pope has won money in Greeley every year he has competed since 2019. He won the Short Round in 2024 and Round 1 in 2023.

Don Payne – The current 20th ranked steer wrestler finished Top 3 in the Average in three straight years from 2022-2024. In 2024, he made three straight runs of 4.1 seconds or faster.

Derrick Begay/Colter Todd – Since teaming back up, Begay/Todd won the Average in Greeley in 2023 and Round 2 in 2024.

Qynn Andersen – Another Aussie cracks the list, this time it’s a bull rider who went 2-for-2 and won the Finals and Average in his 2025 Greeley debut.

Last Year’s Winners

Bareback Riding – Rocker Steiner was 89 twice, winning the First Round and then the Average with 178 points on two.

Steer Wrestling – Tucker Allen and Gavin Soileau traded round wins on their way to tying the Average with 12.7 each on three head. Allen has made at least one run in the 3s in Greeley in each of the last two years.

Team Roping – Andrew Ward/Jake Long were 15.9 on three to win the Average. They also won the First Round with a 4.9. Ward has won Greeley two of the last four years with two different partners.

Saddle Bronc Riding – Mitchell Story split Round 1 with Zac Dallas and Waitley Sharon with 84 points and then exploded for 92 in a Short Round that featured six rides of 88 points or better.

Tie-Down Roping – Michael Otero won the Final Round and the Average with 27.5 on three head. He was 8.8 and 8.6 seconds on his last two runs to sneak by Riley Pruitt and Kincade Henry, who were both 28 flat on three.

Barrel Racing – Kassie Mowry won both the First and Final Rounds on her way to also winning the Average with 51.05 on three. Mowry bested Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi by nearly two-tenths of a second.

Bull Riding – Qynn Andersen was the only one to cover both bulls, winning the Final Round with an 87.5 and the Average with 164.5 on two head. That continued a trend in Greeley, if you cover both, there’s a good chance of getting it done.
