Farm-City Pro Rodeo Adding $50,000 in Prize Money in Each Event
One of Oregon’s biggest rodeos just got even bigger.
Hosted in Hermiston, the Farm-City Pro Rodeo will pay $50,000 more in each event in 2025 and become one of the PRCA’s Top 15 paying rodeos.
“We’ve always been a rodeo produced by cowboys for cowboys,” said David Bothum, the rodeo’s co-founder. “This year we are making big moves to attract the best cowboys and cowgirls in the country. The Cowboy Channel and the PRCA have been a big part of that.”
The rodeo will feature John Harrison as the clown/barrelman and Steve Kenyon and Garrett Yerigan as announcers. Calgary Stampede will be the official stock contractor and stock from Corey & Lange Rodeo, Bridwell ProRodeo, and Korkow Rodeo Company will also be used.
The total payoff in 2024 was $335,162 and winners included Tanner Tomlinson/Patrick Smith, Brody Cress, Joel Harris, and Andrea Busby.
“Rodeo committees need to compete for fans as well as contestants,” said Jon Gill, a Farm-City Pro Rodeo Board of Directors member. “Farm-City Pro Rodeo has always felt that ‘better livestock and more money’ will attract both.”
