Headliners and Hidden Gems From Guymon, Kansas City, Uvalde and More

Top-ranked roughstock cowboys like Jess Pope, TJ Gray and Kade Bruno shined last week, and there were also few young, under-the-radar bull riders who continued to ride anything thrown at them.
Headliner – Jess Pope: The five-time NFR qualifier is now No. 4 in the PRCA Bareback Riding World Standings after winning two rodeos over the weekend, his fourth and fifth on the season. He was 90.5 on Frontier Rodeo’s Breaking News to win Guymon for the second straight year on that horse and also went back-to-back at the American Royal Rodeo in Kansas City.
Hidden Gem – Kashton Ford: The 19-year-old bareback rider has jumped more than 20 spots in the last two weeks thanks to five straight checks. This past weekend, he was fourth in Guymon, sixth in Kansas City, and won the Pioneer Days Rodeo in Mineral Wells, Texas with 86 points.
Headliner – Holden Myers: Myers cracked the Top 5 in March thanks a second-place finish in Houston and in Guymon he got this first career PRCA Playoff Series win. He was 3.6 on his first run to win Round 1 and ended up with an aggregate time of 13.0 seconds to win by two-tenths over eight-time NFR qualifier Matt Reeves.
Hidden Gem – Qynn Andersen: The Australian bull rider is up to No. 36 in the World after winning more than $5,000 last weekend thanks to a pair of second-place finishes. He was 84 points on Big Tasty in Mineral Wells and 84.5 on Candy Eater in Guymon. The weekend prior, he rode for 89.5 at the George Paul Memorial.
Headliner – Wenda Johnson: The Oklahoma native won Guymon for the second time in her career with a time of 17.31 seconds. She was also 15.43 seconds to win the American Royal Rodeo and is now one of three Okies in the Top 10 in the WPRA Barrel Racing World Standings.
Hidden Gem – Cory Dummit: The 35-year-old made his fastest run of the season by more than two seconds, stopping the clock at 7.8 to win the American Royal by one-tenth over 14-time NFR qualifier Hunter Herrin.
Headliner – TJ Gray: Gray is one of the hottest bull riders in the World and is up to No. 2i n the World after winning over $9,000 for first place at the Cactus Jack Xtreme Bulls, where he rode for 86 and 89 points. Since April 23, he is 6-of-10.
Hidden Gem – Avery Mullins: The 19-year-old was 3-for-4 on the weekend to notch a sixth place finish at the Cactus Jack Xtreme Bulls and a second place finish in Mineral Wells for an 85.5-point ride.
Headliner – Kade Bruno: Since March 15, Bruno has made 14 straight rides of 83.5 points or better. His weekend was highlighted by an 87.5-point ride on Penthouse Pro Rodeo’s Bad Habits to win the Cinch World’s Toughest in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Hidden Gem – Waitley Sharon: The 20-year-old bull rider went 3-for-3 over the weekend which was good for two checks — second place in Mineral Wells and third place in Kansas City.
