Headliners and Hidden Gems From San Angelo, Clark County, Oakdale, and More
It’s a bull riding heavy edition of Headliners and Hidden Gems with notes on a World Champion, a Resistol Rookie of the Year, and an NFR Average winner.
Meanwhile, there are new leaders in the team roping and barrel racing in San Angelo while some other athletes made their mark out West.
Headliner – Logan Hay: The Canadian saddle bronc rider made his two best rides of the season at back-to-back rodeos, going for 87.5 on True Grit in San Angelo, where he currently leads Round 1, and 86.5 on Hell Boy for fourth at the Clark County Fair and Rodeo.
Hidden Gem – Kolton Schmidt/Will Woodfin: As part of a doubleheader in San Angelo on Saturday, Schmidt and Woodfin surged to the Average lead with runs of 4.7 and 3.9 seconds, the latter being their fastest run of the season.
Headliner – Ky Hamilton: The 2023 World Champion Bull Rider has ridden four in a row for at least 86 points. He brought in close to $12,000 over the weekend for a win at the Clark County Fair and Rodeo and a fourth place finish at the San Angelo Xtreme Bulls to go from No. 15 to No. 7 in the World Standings.
Hidden Gem – T Parker: It’s hard to hide when you’re as blinged out as Parker is, but more important than his swagger is his health, and for the first time in years the 21-year-old is fully read to ride. He was 2-for-2 in San Angelo over the weekend between the Xtreme Bulls and the rodeo. It snapped a streak of six straight buck-offs.
Headliner – Kassie Mowry: Yes, Mowry won The American, but she is here for her performance in San Angelo, where she stopped the clock at 14.01 seconds in Round 2 for the fastest run of the rodeo. She is second in the Average at 30.09 seconds on two.
Hidden Gem – Tricia Aldridge: Aldridge continued her terrific start to 2025 and left her mark on the weekend by winning the only two rodeos she competed at. She was 16.93 in Clark County to win $8,087 and 17.28 in Oakdale, California to win $3,188.
Headliner: Shea Fournier: The Louisiana saddle bronc rider became the third cowboy in less than a year to make the best ride of his career on The Black Tie of Sankey Pro Rodeo. Fournier was a whopping 92 points to get the win.
Hidden Gem – Colten Fritzlan: Since making his lone National Finals in 2020, Fritzlan has never finished better than No. 21 in the PRCA World Standings. Having already earned more in the PRCA than any year since 2021, 2025 could mark his return. Over the weekend, he was 3-for-3 and won the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo in California.
Headliner – Stetson Jorgensen: The five-time NFR qualifier is up to No. 3 in the PRCA World Standings after winning the Average at the Clark County Fair and Rodeo thanks to runs of 3.8 and 4.5 seconds.
Hidden Gem – Denell Henderson: The 32-year-old finished third in the Average at the Clark County Fair and Rodeo and won the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo to bring in over $7,000 on the weekend. He had about $3,000 for the entire season coming in.
Headliner – Mason Moody: Chasing his first NFR, the 22-year-old is up to No. 4 in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings after his first career 90-point ride won him over $13,000 at the San Angelo Xtreme Bulls.
Hidden Gem – Myles Carlson: The 22-year-old is up to No. 30 in the PRCA Bareback Riding World Standings after winning checks at all three rodeos he competed at over the weekend. That included an 86.5-point ride to win Oakdale.
