No Huddle Rodeo, Sept. 10: Stetson Wright Injury News, Puyallup Storylines, and Pendleton Update

With just 20 days left in the regular season, Stetson Wright is out with a punctured lung, broken ribs, and a pelvis injury suffered during saddle bronc riding in Puyallup. He’s hoping to return for the Governor’s Cup, but he’s likely done for the rest of the regular season.

His absence opens the door in the bull riding standings. Wacey Shala is now within $10,000 and gaining momentum. Tristen Hutchings and Ky Hamilton are also closing in, making it a four-man race for the World Title.

Additionally, Jesse Brown edged out Will Lummus in Puyallup and climbed to No. 2 in steer wrestling, adding more heat to their rivalry as the Governor’s Cup approaches. In team roping, the standings remain razor-thin, with mid-season partner changes and strategy over average versus day money keeping the title race wide open.

Meanwhile in Pendleton, permitholder Hayden Welsh won the Pendleton Extreme Bulls Finale but will be unable to compete at the NFR despite having over $140,000, and in the tie-down roping, No. 15 Kyle Lucas and No. 16 Shane Hanchey made clutch runs in the early going.
