The PBR has announced two new annual bonus programs that will increase rider purses beginning with the 2026-27 season.

The PBR will add $820,000 in prize money, split between the top five athletes in the “PBR Rookie of the Year” and “PBR High Aggregate Awards” programs.

These programs are designed to reward athletes over a 12-month period of competition within the PBR system.

The “PBR Rookie of the Year” program will pay out the top five riders with the highest cumulative score over the annual period.

The “PBR High Aggregate Awards” program follows the same format, but with the potential for the entire pool of more than 1,000 riders to benefit.

Each category will split a $410,000 purse among its top five eligible athletes in the following payout structure:

1st Place: $300,000
2nd Place: $50,000
3rd Place: $30,000
4th Place: $20,000
5th Place: $10,000

The PBR is seeking greater alignment within its global system while expanding athlete visibility and creating additional opportunities for financial gain.

These new bonuses became effective immediately following the conclusion of the PBR World Finals on May 17.

“If an athlete wants to compete on the biggest stage against the best riders and bulls in the world while maximizing earning potential, PBR offers unmatched opportunity,” said Sean Gleason, CEO and Commissioner of PBR. “By combining industry-leading payouts, global visibility, and year-round incentive programs that reward consistency, resilience and commitment to PBR, we are creating greater opportunities for our bull riders at every stage of their careers.”
