The UTB Tour makes its fourth consecutive, and 12th overall, stop in Jacksonville, Florida, this weekend. Last year’s event was defined by a remarkable Short Round that produced eight qualified rides, including three scores of 90 or better.

Brady Fielder was 90 points aboard Big Chili, Sage Kimzey posted a 91 on Red Demon, and Austin Richardson delivered a 91.5-point ride on Eyes On Me to win both the Short Round and the event.

Richardson improved with each ride, finishing with an aggregate of 265.35 points, just 0.75 points ahead of Kaique Pacheco, who placed second. Eight riders went a perfect 3-for-3 in Jacksonville last season, and 13 covered at least two bulls. No two-day event this year has matched those statistical highs.

Richardson will make his fourth out of the season this weekend as he represents the Nashville Stampede in his return to Jacksonville.

Keep An Eye On

Cassio Dias captured his first event win of the season in Pittsburgh after enduring a slow start to the year. He draws Show Biz in Round 1, a bull that has been ridden just once in six outs. Dias has the opportunity to cover his fourth consecutive bull, something he has not accomplished since January 2024.

Cort McFadden delivered a career-best 90.6-point ride last week aboard The Player to win Round 1 in Pittsburgh. He has recorded scores in four of the six UTB events he has entered this season, collecting three Top 7 finishes. McFadden sits 14th in the standings and will attempt to conquer Killer Clown in the bull’s first UTB appearance.

Leandro Zampollo finished second in Pittsburgh, narrowly missing the first UTB victory of his career. Even so, he is enjoying the strongest first half of a season in his career.

Ranked ninth in the world, Zampollo owns the fourth-best riding percentage among the Top 10 at 57.14 percent. He has made four Short Rounds this season and covered three of those championship bulls. This weekend, he faces 3-0 UTB newcomer Steppin’ Out in Round 1.

Marco Rizzo finds himself in the midst of a slump. The 21-year-old has covered just four of his last 15 bulls. If he is bucked off Little Rip on Friday, he will match a UTB career-worst streak of six consecutive misses.

Furthermore, Rizzo sits just 15.5 points away from falling out of the top 10 for the first time this season.

Team Challenge

The Nashville Stampede (1-1) open Friday night against the Texas Rattlers (1-1). Nashville is coming off a loss to the Florida Freedom (1-1), in which it failed to record a single qualified ride.

Much of the Stampede’s success hinges on Kaiden Loud, who has struggled recently. Loud is just 1-for-7 over his last seven outs and has fallen out of the Top 10 in the individual standings. He faces Mississippi Mercenary, a bull that has been covered in each of its last three outs.

For Texas, Brady Fielder, Claudio Montanha Jr., and Ezekiel Mitchell each reached the Short Round in Pittsburgh last weekend. The Rattlers sit fourth in the Team Challenge standings and have an opportunity Friday to separate themselves from the middle of the pack.

The Freedom meet the Carolina Cowboys (0-2) in Friday’s second matchup. Florida blanked Nashville 86.65–0 last week behind a ride from Alex Cerqueira.

This week, Cerqueira draws The Preacher as he looks to climb back into the Top 10. Despite their .500 record, the Freedom have just two total qualified rides through two matches, and neither belongs to World No. 1 John Crimber. Crimber faces Margin of Error, a bull carrying a 63 percent buckoff rate, as he searches for his first Team Challenge points of the season.

Carolina, meanwhile, owns a 50 percent ridiing percentage as a team and the second-most Team Challenge points with 350, yet sits eighth without a win. The Cowboys remain without star Clay Guiton, who continues to recover from his scary wreck in Salt Lake City.

Jess Lockwood is now Carolina’s highest-ranked rider at 13th. He returns after opting out of Pittsburgh’s Short Round due to lingering injury concerns and will face 11-2 Night Fury on Friday night.

Halfway to May

The UTB Tour has officially passed the midpoint of its regular season, with Jacksonville marking the first of the final nine events before the PBR World Finals in May.

John Crimber leads the world standings with 444 points. Marco Rizzo sits 10th with 268, while Thiago Salgado is 20th with 136.5. Jose Vitor Leme holds 31st place with 100.5 points, the final rider above the 100-point mark.

In the Team Challenge race, the Austin Gamblers and the Missouri Thunder are both 3-0 and share the top spot in the standings.

Among bulls, Man Hater, Fire Zone, and Eyes On Me currently rank as the Top 3 in the world.
