RodeoHouston Super Series 1, Round 2 Recap
RodeoHouston moved closer to getting its first group of Semifinals Wednesday night as the second of three rounds in Super Series 1 took place in NRG Stadium, and several athletes put themselves in a prime position to move on in the PRCA’s highest paying rodeo.
Tie-down roper Kincade Henry improved by nine tenths of a second on his Round 1 time with an 8.6 to win for the second straight night. He is the lone cowboy in Houston with $6,000 banked already. Meanwhile, bareback rider Waylon Bourgeois won Round 2 outright after splitting Round 1 with Sam Petersen to bring his total to $5,500 and saddle bronc rider Dawson Hay took second after winning on Tuesday to give him $5,000.
In the barrel racing, Lisa Lockhart won Round 2 after taking second to Paige Jones in Round 1. Jones finished second on Wednesday night to give them both $5,000 heading into Round 3.
Aside from Henry, Bourgeois, and Lockhart the other Round 2 winners were Tyler Waguespack in steer wrestling (4.4 seconds), Tyler Tryan/Denton Dunning in team roping (5.0 seconds), Logan Cook in saddle bronc riding (86 points), Taylor Munsell in breakaway roping (2.6 seconds), and Stetson Wright in bull riding (85.5 points).
