The second Super Series of RodeoHouston began Friday night and will continue through Sunday as the next crop of cowboys and cowgirls are vying for Semifinal spots inside NRG Stadium.

Friday night featured two World Champions and a two-time RodeoHouston Champion winning the Go-Round and a crucial $3,000 toward moving on.

In the saddle bronc riding, four-time World Champion Zeke Thurston rode Cervi Championship’s Redial for 84 points while three-time World Champion Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi won the barrel racing with the second fastest run of the rodeo so far, a 14.37. The other roughstock winner of the night was Lane Vaughan, who made the best of three qualified rides with an 80.5.

On the timed event end of the arena, Bo Pickett got things started with a 9.3-second run to win the tie-down roping, Andrew Ward/Jake Long broke a cold streak to win the team roping with a 6.3, Hawaiian bulldogger Trisyn Kalawaia got the win with a 6.8-second run, and breakaway roping was won by Braylee Shepherd and her 3.4.
