The third Super Series in Houston began Monday and fans were welcomed by a statement from a reigning World Champion and a pair of World No. 1s.
Bareback rider Dean Thompson rode Calgary’s Cinchy Whitney for 88.5 points to get a Go-Round win and set the new bar for highest marked ride of RodeoHouston. It was also the highest marked ride of the year for Thompson, who entered the week No. 4 in the PRCA World Standings.
Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord carried their San Antonio success into RodeoHouston, kicking things off with a 5.1-second run to take the round win. With a $3,000 prize, they’ve already doubled their 2024 earnings at the event.
