RodeoHouston Super Series 4, Round 1 Recap
The Semifinals are more than halfway filled in RodeoHouston and after the conclusion of Super Series 4, Round 1, there are just five Progressive Round performances remaining before we get down to the nitty gritty inside NRG Stadium.
Shane Hanchey got the night started with an 8.4-second run to win the tie-down roping, while Mason Stuller rode for 84.5 points, surviving a Rocker Steiner re-ride to win Round 1 of the bareback riding.
In team roping, Marcus Theriot/Wyatt Cox were 5.4 seconds to win by two-tenths and Brody Wells won the saddle bronc riding by a point with 85 on Extra Special. The steer wrestling, on the other hand, was not nearly as close, Ryan Shuckburgh’s 5.7-second run was the fastest by more than a second.
In the ladies’ events, Summer Kosel stopped the clock at 14.86 seconds in the barrel racing while Kendal Pierson’s 3 flat got it done in breakaway roping. Then Rawley Johnson closed things down as the only bull rider to make the whistle, covering Generations Pro Rodeo’s Rise Up for 82.5 points.
Coverage of Round 2 of Super Series 4 begins at 6:30 PM CT on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
