Several athletes repeated as round winners in Round 2 of Super Series 5 and two more have already totaled at least $5,000 from a first and a second place finish in the first two rounds.

It was deja vu in the bareback riding and saddle bronc riding as Clay Jorgenson and Ryder Wright each brought their Houston total to $6,000 in the blink of an eye.

Jorgenson, whose performance in Houston has him in the Top 10 in the World Standings, rode for 86.5 points in Round 1 and 86 in Round 2. Wright was 84.5 and 83.5 points on his two rides.

The other athlete who defended their turf from Round 1 was barrel racer Leslie Smalygo, the 2024 RodeoHouston Champion. She was 14.72 on Monday after a 14.81 Sunday.

In team roping, Pedro Egurrola/Justin Davis were 6.3 seconds in Round 1 for a runner-up finish and then shaved a full second off their time in Round 2, winning with a 5.3. Those two checks were worth $2,000 and $3,000 respectively. Tristen Hutchings did something similar in the bull riding. He was 82 points in Round 1 and 88 in Round 2. He is the only 2-for-2 bull rider remaining in the Super Series.

The remaining Round 2 winners in Super Series 5 were Tucker Allen in steer wrestling (4.6 seconds), Blane Cox in tie-down roping (8.7 seconds), and Macy Young and Joey Williams in tie-down roping (2.9 seconds).

The final performance of the Progressive Rounds in Houston is Tuesday at 6:30 PM CT on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
