A pair of bareback riders made more than $6,000 in Bracket 3. Bradlee Miller, who won Rounds 2 and 3, and Orin Larsen, who placed second or third in each of the three rounds, won $6,605 and $6,055, respectively. Miller, the reigning champion in San Antonio, posted the bracket-best 88.5-point ride on Wednesday night.
Also advancing were Round 1 winner Taylor Broussard and Bronc Marriott.
In steer wrestling, Justin Shaffer had a similar trajectory to Miller. He tied Eli Lord for the Round 2 win at 4.3 seconds and won Round 3 outright with a 3.9-second run.
With $5,229, Shaffer advanced first from Bracket 3, while Stephen Culling, Holden Myers, and Lord rounded out the semifinalists.
In team roping, three noteworthy new pairs headlined the bracket. After making the Finals in Fort Worth, Tyler Tryan/Levi Lord led the way with $4,403 apiece, while Cory Rahlmann/Logan Medlin and Tanner Tomlinson/Coleby Payne followed with $3,853 and $3,303, respectively.
After not placing in Round 1, Tryan/Lord were 4.6 seconds for third in Round 2 and 3.9 seconds to win Round 3.
Colton Clayton/Justin Delagarza were the other pair to advance, matching Tomlinson/Payne’s $3,303.
Q Taylor turned in three straight rides of 85 or 86 points to finish as the top bronc rider in Bracket 3 with $6,330. NFR qualifiers Kade Bruno ($4,954) and Ben Andersen ($2,202) finished second and fourth, while Fort Worth co-champion Darcy Radel continued his breakout season by advancing with $3,303.
Taylor’s total matches Zeke Thurston for the most money earned by any bronc rider through the first three brackets.
Chet Weitz won two of the three rounds in tie-down roping and finished second in the other, posting three runs of 9.4 seconds or faster to earn $7,155. He topped an impressive group of semifinalists, as three 2025 NFR qualifiers — John Douch, Tom Crouse, and Kyle Lucas — also advanced.
In barrel racing, Hailey Kinsel and Loralee Ward tied atop a top-heavy bracket with $5,504 apiece. Kinsel won Round 2 and Ward won Round 3 with runs of 14.37 and 14.30 seconds, respectively. The other two semifinalists are Round 1 winner Kathy Grimes and Hayle Gibson-Stilwell, who placed third and second in Rounds 2 and 3.
Boudreaux Campbell made $12,476 after going 3-for-3 and adding ground money. In his return to PRCA competition, Campbell sits No. 8 in the World Standings and is poised to make a significant jump regardless of what happens the rest of the way in San Antonio.
It was a loaded Bracket 3, with 2025 NFR qualifiers Luke Mackey and Bryce Jensen,the 2025 Resistol Rookie of the Year, also advancing with 2-for-3 showings. Damien Wood’s 81.5-point ride in Round 2 secured the final semifinal spot.
Aspen Miller earned $5,504 in breakaway roping thanks to two round wins with times of 1.9 and 1.7 seconds. It was the second 1.9 and third 1.7 of the rodeo.
Jaci Hammons finished second in each of the final two rounds with runs of 2.0 and 2.3 seconds to earn $4,404. Haiden Thompson ($4,128) and Rickie Fanning ($3,303) also qualified for the semifinals.
Bracket 4 begins Friday night.
