Stetson Wright appeared on the most recent episode of Dale Brisby’s Rodeo Time Podcast with his brothers and talked about the influence both Ky Hamilton and JB Mauney have had on his bull riding career.

Stetson said prior to rodeoing with Hamilton, if a bull he was supposed to ride went away from his hand, he had a tough time staying on because he had tendency to lean back around the six-second mark. This was in 2019, and Hamilton helped him quickly fix it.

“Many bull riders probably hate that he did that, because now I can ride them either way,” Stetson said.

As for JB, the No. 1 thing Stetson learned from him is the cowboy mentality.

“He keeps pretty simple, what you see on TV is what you get from JB,” he said. “You ask him ‘what should I do?’ He is going to say ‘try.'”
