At just 22-years-old, Riley Webb is rewriting rodeo history. Already a two-time PRCA World Champion in tie-down roping, Webb has a chance to do something in 2025 that no tie-down roper since Roy Cooper has done: win three Gold Buckles in a row.

Yes, that means the likes of Joe Beaver, Cody Ohl, Fred Whitfield, Trevor Brazile, Tuf Cooper, Caleb Smit, etc., etc. never accomplished that feat. So far in the 2025 season, he’s off to as good of a start as possible. Webb is the No. 1 cowboy in the World Standings with over $250,000 earned so far, putting him on pace to take back his regular season earnings record Shad Mayfield broke last year.

During the 2024 NFR, Webb became the fastest cowboy to ever surpass $1 million in career earnings, and he’s shattered records with back-to-back seasons of $450,000+ in prize money. He broke his own record in 2024 with over $475,000.

But the road to history won’t be easy. Webb faces fierce competition from world champions like Shad Mayfield, as well as contenders including Marty Yates, John Douch, Kincade Henry, Ty Harris, Shane Hanchey and Tuf Cooper.

With the NFR in Las Vegas looming, Webb’s proven ability to perform under pressure makes him the favorite if he enters No. 1. He won $170,000 at the NFR in 2023 and finished second in the Average and was even better last season, racking up over $258,000, winning the Average, and taking second in the RAM Top Gun Standings in 2024.
