Thrilling Bull Rides Highlight Fort Worth’s Second Semifinal

We usually start with bareback riding, but on Friday night in Fort Worth, the bull riders were impossible to ignore. So, we’re diving right in.

Just like the First Semifinal, there were three qualified rides in the Second Semifinal—but that’s where the similarities end. On Thursday, the top score was 86.5, with the lowest at 80.5. On Friday night, T Parker seized his opportunity aboard Sutton Rodeo’s One Chance, riding for 90 points. In a tie for second, TJ Gray and Roscoe Jarboe both posted 88-point rides.

Overall, the bull riding in Dickies Arena has been as strong as we’ve seen in recent years. Friday night delivered the second 90-point ride of the event, and there have already been 13 rides of 88 points or more. Parker and Gray each account for two of them.

Before the bull riding on Friday, Emily Beisel continued her scorching start to 2025 inside Dickies Arena with a blistering 16.23-second run. She has dominated all three Go-Rounds she’s competed in so far, with every run clocking in at 16.26 seconds or faster—including the fastest of the rodeo, a lightning-quick 16.11.

So far in Fort Worth, there have been 12 barrel racing runs of 16.26 or faster, and Beisel owns three of them. She has already racked up $8,600 and is chasing her first career win at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

Other winners of the Second Semifinal were Jacek Frost in bareback riding (89.5 points), Eli Lord in steer wrestling (4.2 seconds), Clay Smith/Coleby Payne in team roping (3.8 seconds), Zac Dallas and Gus Gaillard in saddle bronc riding (85 points each), and Kyle Lucas in tie-down roping (7.8 seconds).

QUICK DRAW

Across both Semifinals, 15 of the 16 bareback riders for at least 83 points. It took 86.5 to make the Finals out of both sets.

Clay Smith/Coleby Payne, the defending champions, have been 4.3 or better on all three of their qualified times. They won the Wildcard and the Second Semifinal with matching 3.8s.

Saddle bronc rider Zac Dallas won his Semifinal in Denver and Fort Worth.

Three of the eight tie-down ropers in the Second Semifinal had never been to the NFR. Two of them advanced and Kyle Lucas won the round with a 7.8.

Bull rider T Parker is 11-for-18 on the season after missing a majority of 2024 with a torn rotator cuff
